DarkPrompt is a command-line adversarial testing framework for evaluating prompt injection resistance, unsafe compliance, data leakage, multi-turn attacks, obfuscation handling, tool-use policy, and multimodal payload handling across LLM providers.

Use it only against systems you own or are authorized to assess.

## What changed in 1.2.0

- Test packs can define typed, weighted assertions instead of relying on free-form expected outcomes.
- Assertions support refusal, content, regex, JSON Schema, tool-call, turn-scoped, and semantic checks.
- Semantic checks can use a separate judge provider and model.
- Reports include per-assertion outcomes, weighted scores, confidence, and evidence.
- Invalid regexes and JSON Schemas are rejected during pack validation.
- Legacy `expected_outcome` cases remain supported.

Provider and model capabilities still vary. DarkPrompt reports unsupported payload types as errors instead of silently converting them to text.

## Basic usage

Run a pack against Ollama:

Run every mutation with four concurrent workers and a reproducible seed:

## Test pack format

A pack contains `pack.yaml` and optional YAML files under `cases/`.

Multi-turn cases use `chain` and may scope assertions to a specific turn:

Legacy cases using `expected_outcome` remain valid. Assertions take precedence when both are present.

Case IDs must be unique across the pack.

## Evaluation and reporting

Typed assertions produce deterministic per-assertion outcomes and a weighted score. Semantic assertions are marked `INCONCLUSIVE` unless a separate judge provider is configured. Judge output must be valid structured JSON.

Provider failures are marked `ERROR`. They do not affect the resistance score.

Reports are available as Markdown or JSON:

Custom redaction expressions may be repeated. Redaction applies to prompts, responses, provider errors, aggregate evaluation content, and assertion evidence.
